Jericho's extreme happiness for being asked to pledge, then disappointment when some of the activities become harmful. He's very upset with the initiation activities, and with the way the first ever girl pledge, Dana is being treated. The activities seem scary and seem on the edge of being abusive. But he's determined to make it and not let his friends and himself down. This is a man vs. self conflict
Another conflict is that Dana, one of Jericho's best friend's girlfriend, wants to become the first girl that becomes a Warrior. She recieves extra harsh treatment, especially from Warrior leader, Eddie Mahony, who has a long standing crush on Dana. Only with the great protection of her boyfriend and his friends and her own determination will she make it through this. This is a man vs. man and man vs. self conflict
*Was Dana, even through all the things the Warriors do, she stays strong. Her image really inspires me, she isn't scared of the warriors and she always stands up for herself and her friends. She had a dream of being a warrior and she did what she had to do to get closer to her dream. She goes through all of the initiation activities the boys do, and puts up with her personal leader, Eddie, who treats her terribly, because of his strong feelings for her and jelousy of her boyfriend, Kofi.I thought this story was very believable:It deals with something almost all teens have to go through, peer pressure. The pledges are bound by a code of secrecy, unable to reveal the disgusting, dangerous tasks they have to go through, I think it helps readers understand its possible they can lose themselves in what others think and do.Although this wasn't my absolute favorite book, I though it was extremly important. The lessons and morals it teaches could benifit any society. I think I felt so close to this book because I know things like this could actually happen to me, my friends, or family. After reading this I wanted to make sure nothing like this would happen to the people I care about, because it is demeaning and unfair.
